About
Olivier Remualdo is a photographer born and based in the French Riviera.
Since the early2000s, he regularly travels to the Asian sub-continent. Through photo journalism and portraiture, his creative work focuses on people, and is particularly interested in exploring the relationship between religion, mysticism, and individual paths and choices. He seeks to move beyond the usual representation of exotic fascination to highlight individual characters, by displacing the encounter between photographer and subject to a heart-to-heart experience mediated by the camera.
His work has been presented at Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris, at a number of international photographic festivals (Arles, Sept-Off, Barrobjectif, Chennai Photo Biennale, …), and exhibited in museums in France (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice, MAMAC - Asian Art Museum of Nice, André Villers Photography Museum in Mougins). Remualdo is the recipient of several awards and distinctions, including the Lucien Clergue Award (2011) and the Blurb Book Contest Grand Prize Winner (San Francisco,2009).
Books have been published by the City of Cannes for “Vive (la) République” and by his own publishing company for “Sadhus, the holy men ofIndia”. His work is regularly featured in French travel and photography magazines.
He lives between the French Riviera and Paris, and shares his time between his creative adventures and institutional & corporate commissions in various fields, such as architecture, decoration, gastronomy, portraiture, etc.

Olivier Remualdo est un photographe originaire du sud-est de la France.
Il voyage dans le sous-continent indien depuis le début des années 2000. Son axe personnel se concentre sur l'aspect humain, par le reportage et le portrait. Il explore en particulier le lien entre religion, mystique et les chemins et choix individuels, s'éloignant des représentations habituelles de l'exotisme. Il cherche ainsi à transformer la rencontre entre photographe et sujet en une expérience de coeur-à-coeur dont l'appareil photo se fait médiateur.
Ses travaux ont été notamment présentés à l’Espace Pierre Cardin à Paris, dans de nombreux festivals internationaux (Arles, Sept-Off, Barrobjectif, Chennai Photo Biennale, ...) et fait l'object d'expositions dans plusieurs musées (Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain à Nice, Musée des Arts Asiatiques de Nice, Musée de la photographie André Villers de Mougins, etc). Parmi les distinctions obtenues, il a été récompensé par le « Prix Lucien Clergue » (2011) et a été « Grand Prize Winner » au « Best Blurb Book Contest » (2009) à San Francisco.
En mai 2013, il devient éditeur et sort son livre "Sâdhus : les hommes saints de l'hindouisme". Il s'agit de sa deuxième publication après "Vive (la) République !", un ouvrage édité par la Ville de Cannes. Son travail est souvent présenté dans des magazines de voyage et de photographie.
Il vit entre la Côte d'Azur et Paris, et partage son activité entre travaux d'auteur et commandes institutionnelles dans des domaines variés : architecture, décoration, gastronomie, corporate, etc.
